Yana holds an LLM degree in Public International law from Leiden University, with her thesis concentrating on procedural issues for climate change cases before the ECtHR. She also graduated with a law degree from Sofia University, Bulgaria and has previously worked in both the private and public sectors, where she gained expertise on various topics, including sustainable development, Green Deal law and policy and diplomacy. Yana is passionate about social and environmental justice, with a specific interest in just transition, climate litigation and the intersection of environmental law and IHL. Her mission is to translate complex legal and policy issues to non-professionals and to advocate for meaningful change.
