Conference about H2Med in Barcelona

<< Back to Citizen's Observatory for Green Deal Financing page.

Date: Tuesday, 19 September 2023

On 19 September, the Debt Observatory in Globalization held an international meeting together with the Gas No es Solución network in connection with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

There were two round tables (with the participation of different organizations such as Zero or Ecologistas en Acción) and one strategic meeting around the role of large gas and hydrogen transport infrastructures, especially focusing on the H2Med project, at that time, a possible candidate for the European funding – PCI List. 20 people participated in total.

The invited panelists were from different EU countries and had different backgrounds such as civil society organizations, activists, research groups as well as an MEP.

Also, a letter was launched to express serious concerns regarding the Union’s first List of Projects of Common and Mutual Interest (PCI/PMI List) and the inclusion of certain hydrogen-related projects. The letter was signed by a total of 66 organizations and groups, 14 policymakers and 4 political parties.

More details on the event and how it was evaluated by the participants through the EU Survey on Justice, Rights and Values, that was sent after the session can be found in the detailed event description here.
