Solar panels on the roofs of Warsaw blocks of flats? Why not! The workshop, which took place on 7 October at the Nest (Gniazdo) Centre for Climate Activism in Warsaw, focused on funding opportunities and different types of energy communities for the city.
The Polish Green Network and Miasto Jest Nasze organised the event. The workshop with experts from the Polish Green Network focused on discussing the advantages of installing solar panels on the roofs of multi-family buildings in cities. The event discussed various sources of funding, such as the thermo-modernisation bonus, renovation bonus, RES grant and thermo-modernisation grant, which can significantly reduce investment costs.
The workshop also touched on different energy community models, including:
- Collective prosument: the benefits of residents joining energy communities, which allow for joint investment in RES installations and the exchange of electricity generated, were highlighted.
- Tenant prosument: it was discussed how property managers in housing communities or housing associations could work on thermo-modernisation and solar panel installation projects using various forms of financial support. The benefits that residents in multi-family buildings can achieve with this energy community formula were also shown.
Participants at the event had the opportunity to gain concrete information on funding sources and learn how energy communities, including collective prosumers and tenant communities, can contribute to sustainable energy development in Warsaw. 8 participants took part in this event.
