The Grand Hotel Ushba was one of the first houses that were reformed as a hotel. But by now plenty of guesthouses have sprung up. The founders of the Grand Hotel have many ideas for the development of the area, for instance new trails markings or sport competitions for children.

The locals still see numerous problems such as sanitary or road infrastructure, but the economic situation has improved considerably in recent years.
