Shadow list of rivers

The Shadow list contains 88 potential Emerald sites that need to be added to the Emerald Network by the signatory countries of the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention) in the Western Balkans. The list was created as a joint effort of 39 scientists and representatives of NGOs from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Switzerland. The results were based on the latest available data and their knowledge of the distribution and conservation of more than 50 fish species of European importance.
