The Citizens’ Observatory on Green Deal Financing kick-off event took place on 23-26 January 2023 in Belgium, Brussels. The event was organised to bring together project partners and other organisations interested in working together on monitoring EU funds and advocating for more transparency and public participation in Member States. 35 participants from 16 countries attended the event.
During the event the project partners discussed the planned activities of the project and ways of implementing and promoting them, as well as the results of previous monitoring of the Recovery and Resilience Facility implementation, the current state of the European Green Deal and potentials topics of focus for the joint Observatory work. The partners discussed the larger overlapping concerns on the shortcomings and positive elements of the recovery and resilience plans in different countries. The project partners also shared the common vision on these broader issues to see which topics are the most important to raise when reaching out to citizens on the recovery plans and European Green Deal financing. The work of the Observatory will continue online with regular meetings and updates.
