The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has a mandate to promote democracy, market economies and sustainable development in the former Eastern Bloc.

Since the bank is reviewing its Mining Strategy this year, we discussed the EBRD’s role in the mining sector and the standards it should meet to ensure sustainability and democracy are not compromised.
