A letter to the EBRD on Green Cities

A letter to the EBRD on Green Cities

Advocacy letter    |    3 February 2021

Following the research on sustainable municipal infrastructure released in the spring of 2020, Bankwatch has solicited some updated feedback from our member groups and partners in various EBRD Green Cities in central and eastern Europe. We have encountered new issues in municipalities since our last study was conducted, as well as a number of those that have persisted in the implementation of Green Cities, despite the EBRD’s attempts to take Bankwatch’s earlier feedback into account.

Bankwatch and six of our NGO partners jointly drafted a letter and shared it with EBRD outlining the issues attached to specific cases we are following, as well as our recommendations to help EBRD infrastructure funding serve the needs of the communities and the environment.

Never miss an update

We expose the risks of international public finance and bring critical updates from the ground. We believe that the billions of public money should work for people and the environment.
