As Bishkek’s population grows, public transport in the Kyrgyz capital is clearly lagging far behind demand. A new research paper, produced in collaboration with our Kyrgyz partners Peshcom, maps the situation of sustainable urban mobility development in Bishkek.

The research examines the impact of transport in Bishkek on air quality, existing policies for urban mobility development, recent international investments, opportunities and challenges for civil society participation in urban politics, and recommendations for authorities and investors designing urban mobility projects in Bishkek.
