This complaint, filed by Bankwatch, Client Earth and Counter Balance with the European Investment Bank’s complaint mechanism, addresses non-compliance of the European Investment Bank’s Transparency Policy with EU and international law on access to information. The allegations include the breach of duty to provide access to documents with environmental information through a public register, insufficient dissemination of project information, application of wrong exceptions from the presumption of disclosure upon request, in particular applied presumption of confidentiality regarding investigations and insufficient disclosure of information regarding the bank’s operation through financial intermediaries.
