‘I am a local of the village, I love Chuberi and I support it.’

Three public schools and two kindergartens operate in Chuberi and Nakra. Women form about two-thirds of the staff. Despite the rudimentary facilities, the local teachers are renowned for their commitment and enthusiasm and the children score excellent results in national exams. The only thing their parents complain about is the lack of extra-curricular activities. Thanks to the initiative of Lile Chkhetiani, the young teacher of English and art, children can develop their skills of Georgian calligraphy.

“I’m a local and I love Chuberi” says Lile.  She expresses her concerns about the construction of the Nenskra dam slowly and consciously: “We were not well informed. The environmental assessment was not well done. This ravine will not survive without the Nenskra River!”

Lile is an art teacher at Chuberi school.
