Becho

The Becho-Mazeri road is an historic place for those who tried to climb the Ushba Peak. This challenging rock makes locals proud. ‘These mountains are as rough as Svan people are,’ they say.

The Becho-Mazeri road is an historic place for alpinists. For those that tried to climb or succeeded climbing the Ushba Peak, the Queen of the Caucasian Mountain Range.

Its rocky vertical walls are not recommendable for amateur climbers. Translated as ‘the road to nowhere’, ‘the wretched place’, ‘the place of witches’, this challenging peak keep locals proud.

‘These mountains are as rough as Svan people are’.
