Wendel Trio

Social scientist. Currently working as a freelancer supporting large and small NGOs in understanding climate science and translating this to climate policies and targets. Before that he was the Director of Climate Action Network Europe for 10 years and helped expand both the Network and the Secretariat to be more influential in national and European climate and energy policies. He spent his whole career in the NGO sector and prior to CAN Europe, he served as head of the Political and Business Unit at Greenpeace International, Campaign Director at Greenpeace Belgium, political coordinator of Oxfam in Flanders and was the co-founder and director of first the Flemish Support Group for Indigenous peoples and then the European Alliance with Indigenous Peoples. He has worked in both campaigning, advocacy and management positions and has engaged in human rights, environment and development issues all along his career.
