In recent years, hydrogen has been treated as an all-around solution rather than developing it in limited applications where it can support the decarbonisation efforts. But evidence is mounting that the EU may have been too optimistic about hydrogen’s contribution.
This briefing analyses over-optimism about hydrogen’s role in the central and eastern European Member States – Hungary, Poland and Romania – based on analysis of their national hydrogen strategies and national energy and climate plans (NECPs).
