aktualne.sk | December 8, 2015BRATISLAVA – Rada Ukrajinského jadrového regulátora v pondelok rozhodla o tom, že reaktor Južno-Ukrajinský 2, ktorý je len o 130 km ďalej od Bratislavy ako Černobyľ, má byť v prevádzke o desať rokov dlhšie ako je jeho predpísaná životnosť. Reaktor bol od mája dočasne odstavený kvôli nesplneniu prioritných bezpečnostných opatrení. Časť z nich však zostáva nezrealizovaná. Mimovládne organizácie žiadajú vlády okolitých krajín, vrátane slovenskej, aby podnikli kroky na zvýšenie jadrovej bezpečnosti v regióne.

Dundee brushes off poisoning claims
Namibian Sun | November 25, 2015The Tsumeb-based mining company responded yesterday to questions sent by Namibian Sun on Monday, following an article that was published by international non-government (NGO) group BankWatch which claimed that the waste disposal site at the Tsumeb Smelter is piling up with arsenic left from the smelting of European ore – sparking fears of soil and water contamination. DPM spokesperson Alina Garises says BankWatch has a long history of being against mining of any sort.
