In our discussion, Mark Campanale (Carbon Tracker Initiative), Sean Kidney (Climate Bonds Initiative) and Aleksandar Macura (Serbian energy expert) joined Bankwatch EBRD coordinator Fidanka Bacheva McGrath to discuss the economic implications of fossil fuel lending by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and point out ways for the bank to unite climate reason and market logic in its energy portfolio.

In a live google hangout we discussed the recently published draft of the EIB energy lending policy, provided our assessment, discussed the international context and spoke about the implications for the EBRD’s upcoming energy policy. After the short presentations, we invited for a Q&A session. The discussion was live-streamed here on Wednesday, 03 July 2013 at 15.00 CET. Questions were posted by participants before and during the broadcast.
