A joint submission to the 2025 public consultations on the methodology underlying the needs assessment for key tranboundary energy projects.

With this input, Bankwatch, Food & Water Action Europe, Ecologistas en Acción and Polish Green Network, would like to call attention to several issues concerning the way hydrogen projects have been chosen for consideration for inclusion in the 6th list of Projects of Common Interest.

Among others, the joint submission argues the methodology is not based on the latest projections for hydrogen production or green hydrogen demand, as well as the very conflict of interest due to the central role of the fossil gas transport industry in the process of drawing up this methodology.
