“There is a danger that something can happen to Svaneti. Too many dams are being built.”

A young girl looking into the camera.

Jan Richard Baerung already met Barbara Udesiani in a storytelling contest in the Svan Language. She loves her region. She wants to develop it and she is actively doing so. With her fluency in English she is able to explain her expectations and concerns about Svaneti: too many tourists and the construction of dams.

Barbara is a student from Latali.

Svaneti is threatened by massive hydropower developments

We are trying to prevent that and preserve the regions unique way of life.
