“I don’t want to leave Svaneti but improve our community. I want Ushguli to become modern.”

A Georgian girl looking and slightly smiling into the camera.

Marianna’s English is fluent. Her family owns a guesthouse in Usghuli and she loves to talk with the tourists. She wants to study other languages in the city and return to Svaneti. She says: “After finishing university, I will come back here again.”

Mariam is a student from Ushguli.
