The European Ombudsman has launched a formal inquiry into the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) financing of the Southern Gas Corridor, following a complaint that claimed the Bank “dangerously downplayed the contribution of the controversial fossil fuel project to the climate crisis,” said the NGO CEE Bankwatch Network on Thursday.
